NZVCC Support
NZ Research and Education Network supported
The NZVCC has come out in support of the concept of a research and education computer network for this country. The proposal is under development through the NZVCC Standing Committee on Information Technology which wrote to Vice-Chancellors seeking their support. It was pointed out that the NZVCC could significantly assist the project if universities could commit to working together to establish such a vital resource for the research and education community. At their meeting last week, Vice-Chancellors agreed to publicly support the network concept and to lobby Government for further support.
