Next Generation Internet Consortium

NGI-NZ (Next Generation Internet) is a consortium set up earlier this year
to provide a national and international high-speed network for the
research, education and innovation sectors in New Zealand. NGI-NZ, now an
incorporated society, is moving to establish that network, initially
connecting people and organisations in the target sectors at speeds of up
to 1 Gigabit/sec. All the country's universities are members, and the
Society is hoping to rapidly expand that.

NGI Application Working Groups are being set up focusing on the following
priorities and industry sectors: Creative, Biotechnology, Tele-health,
AgriTech, e-Science, ICT, and Education and e-Learning.
